The CEV demands more investment so as not to slow down the economy

The council of Castellón, whose weight already assumes 20%, appeals to transparency
They will commission a study to the UJI to analyze the dimension of the business fabric
The business fabric of the province of Castellón lived on Thursday a historic day with the first meeting of the Business Council of Castellón of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), which was established on March 22 and presided over by Sebastián Pla, president of the Association of Consignees and Port Companies of Castellón (ACEP).
The meeting, in which the CEV president, Salvador Navarro, took part, took place at the headquarters of the Port Authority of Castellón and the road map of the new provincial employers' association was drawn up, which at this moment is already the 20% of the business fabric that makes up the autonomic, Navarro said.
"It is a historic day because we are going to start a new structure in Castellón, with the first meeting of the Castellón business committee, and we are aware that everything that starts is difficult, so we will work to try to create the structure with transparency and with the vocation to expand and that more associations and companies join the project, "praised Pla.
The business representatives analyzed the General State Budgets (PGE) 2018 . The president of the CEV was critical since "we are the antepenultimate in investment per inhabitant, and given that we are leading the indexes of unemployment reduction and increase of exports, the Community should have more investment so as not to slow down economic growth , because for every euro invested in the Community, the State has a greater regression, "Navarro explained.
From the CEV they affirmed that they are going to undertake a conscientious work to "study the execution of the budgets". "It is true that the province of Castellón is more benefited than the rest, but we must analyze the budgets from the whole , and although investment has increased by 25% in the Community, we continue to the tail," Navarro said.
The president of the CEV highlighted the Port of Castellón as «a strength for the province, for its specialization and diversification» . Therefore, "the Port of Castellón must be properly connected to the Mediterranean Corridor and to the Cantabrian connection". In this regard, regarding the Cantabrian connection, Navarro said that "we must recognize the effort of the Ministry with the implementation of new trains, since it has gone from four weekly to 30 current trains ."

Press the central government

The president of the CEV also stressed the need to put pressure on the central government "on all sides" because the solution to regional financing has to be "yes or yes" . "Financing is the fight we are taking, because we are 11 points below the national average, so the solution has to be yes or yes."
Navarro recalled that "Minister Montoro said in October that in December it would be solved, and we are in May and we still have no solution," he criticized.
Regarding the Business Council of Castellón of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), Navarro informed that they will entrust the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) with a study on the size of the business fabric of the province of Castellón.
"The business fabric of the province of Castellón has specific needs and our first objective is the implementation of the business council , which has full autonomy and capacity, as it is a board of directors of the CEV in Castellón," he said.
Navarro praised that "we must work in the province, but not only in Castellón, because the province has many more populations and entrepreneurial skills."
«Castellón is currently around 20% of the business representation of the CEV in the whole of the Valencian Community and we will continue working so that more associations and companies join, and of all the municipalities, since there are companies and associations in zones like Peñíscola or Benicarló, among others », Navarro quoted.
Also, the president of the CEV highlighted transparency as a priority axis for employers . "Economic independence is one of the potentialities of the CEV, since transparency is power and private dependence makes you active," he said.
Navarro highlighted the power of the business fabric of the province of Castellón as well as its diversification, " with a very important cluster such as tile , citrus, logistics, tourism, industry is its broad sense ...". "We will work to solve the needs of the business sector of the province," Navarro concluded.
